Florence, Paris, and the Santa Monica area. A Few of My Favorite Places
In the fall of 2016, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Arezzo, Italy through OU. Our group travelled quite a bit around Europe. One of my favorite spots was Florence, Italy.

Florence offered a city taste with artistic flare on every street corner. Graffiti litters much of Italy's big cities, but it was much more artistic looking in Florence compared to Rome.
Another city I grew fond of was Paris.

I really love looking at art, and Claude Monet is one of my all time favorite artists. We sat inside this room for quite a while just taking it all in! We visited many art galleries while in Paris, and while the Louvre was beautiful, the Musee de l'Orangerie took the cake.
Back to the US, my family and I visit Santa Monica frequently because my brother, sister in law, and niece live in the area. We visit so much that it feels like a home away from home. Santa Monica is pretty close to LA, so we end up visiting LA quite a bit too!

The Griffith Observatory is one of my favorite places in California because it has a great view of the California skyline, although much of the time smog is so dense the tops of skyscrapers can't be seen.
(The LA Women's March, Downtown LA, January 2017)
This past January we visited LA and accidentally fell into the LA Women's March, which we weren't complaining. It was a very powerful march with very powerful speakers present. Reading all the signs and listening to speakers was very inspiring.
Ohhhh, Cheyenne, this looks great. Especially (for me) Florence: Italy is full of beautiful places, but Florence is one of my own favorites! And thanks for all these other great pictures: that one of the women's march where it is like the sun breaking through the clouds is fantastic. I wish we could magically travel to India to see the sites as part of this class, but at least there will be all kinds of art and photos online that we can use to do some virtual visiting! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Cheyenne! The photos you took are breathtaking in Florence, Italy are breathtaking! I have always wanted to visit but my family never matches up schedule to travel anywhere far or new. I am a huge fan of looking at art too! I studied art history for a few years so I still have a lot of artwork memorized. I like that you listed multiple places for your favorite places rather than just one.
