Reading Notes: PDE Ramayana Part B (Viradha and Khara)
Viradha
When I read this story I knew exactly how I wanted to recreate it. Rama and Lakshmana battle a demon named Viradha. He abducts Sita in the process and they must save her. In the end, it is revealed that his true name is Tumburu and he was cursed until Rama beat him in battle. I would like to recreate this into a futuristic battle, or maybe an Indiana Jones type western battle. While reading it, all I could imagine was Indiana Jones music playing and lassos (ha!) I enjoyed this story because it was definitely more action based and had fast paced dialogue and action words.

Battle With Khara
Another battle that I liked was with Khara, the rakshasa brother to Shurpanakha. He was to avenge his sister because she was rejected and distorted by Rama and his brother because she tried to attack Sita out of jealousy. In my mind, I pictured a battle in Roman times, with chariots and many men on foot and on horse back. I would like to recreate this scene as well, but with a Roman twist on it, perhaps like the movie 300? Another movie that comes to mind, although not Roman, is the movie 10,000 BC. I can imagine Sita being the girl the main character in the movie protects from the evil elites.
